COVID-19 Vaccine Scheduling Partnership
From March 16th through May 1, 2021, The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Prince George's Maryland Chapter,(NC100BW-PGC) partnered with Central Baptist Church of Camp Springs, Maryland (Pastor Lincoln M. Burruss, Jr.), Safeway, Walgreens and Alberton’s Pharmacy to schedule COVID-19 Vaccine appointments for over 2,000 Prince George's County, Washington DC and Virginia residents .
Central Baptist Church served as the designated site to administer the vaccine. We are so grateful to Pastor Burruss for his wisdom to include the Coalition in this endeavor.
NC100BW-PGC COVID-19 Vaccine Partnership Highlights:
Over 2,000 Prince George’s County, Washington, DC and Virginia residents were scheduled for the first and second Pfizer vaccine
Eighteen Coalition Sisters volunteered their time to schedule people that registered for vaccine via the church’s COVID-19 webpage
100% of the chapter’s Health Awareness Committee volunteered to support the effort
Supporting this effort was a real positive and personal experience for all the volunteers. Responses from the registrants were priceless with most sharing their excitement and appreciation for the vaccine appointment. There was a great feeling of accomplishment and making a difference in people’s lives during this pandemic. NCBW100-PGC chapter served with much pride and excitement.
